Bergen Volunteers Seeks CEO


Bergen Volunteers is at the hub of Bergen County’s nonprofit community and through direct service programs, civic engagement, and multi-sector collaborations, is helping address significant social safety net needs in our communities. Bergen Volunteers’ mission is to transform caring into meaningful action by engaging volunteers to improve lives and strengthen the community. Bergen Volunteers is served by 13 dedicated employees, an active 14-member Board of Directors, and an annual budget of approximately $1.1 million. More than 7,000 individuals throughout Bergen County annually participate in or are served by programs conducted by Bergen Volunteers.


Bergen Volunteers seeks an accomplished and dynamic leader with the following attributes to be its next CEO:

  • Demonstrated fundraising expertise.

  • Strong marketing and executive skills, including financial management knowledge and strategic planning experience.

  • Excellent communication skills; the ability to develop and manage relationships with diverse audiences.

  • Extensive network of professional and philanthropic relationships particularly at the local level.  

  • A minimum of ten years of experience as a senior manager in a non-profit human services organization, or equivalent private-sector or government experience.

  • Commitment to developing and maintaining an employee culture of respect, learning, and integrity.

  • Evidence of a strong mission commitment.
