Important Update:​

After careful evaluation and thoughtful discussion, the Bergen Volunteers Board of Directors made the very difficult decision to close the Bergen READS program, effective June 1, 2026. This choice was not made lightly. It reflects the realities of our current financial resources and our responsibility to steward them in a way that best supports our overall mission and serves our community.

We are deeply proud of what Bergen READS has accomplished—the connections built, the progress made, and the lasting impact on the lives of the students we served. None of this would have been possible without the dedication, talent, care, and partnership of our incredible community. Thank you.
