Teen LEADS is a program for high school students to learn about local government and public policy. Students analyze community issues and develop new approaches to problem solving. The program is designed to get students involved in their community to become effective community leaders.

The Summer Intensive is open to students who will be attending high school during the 2022/2023 school year.

Session dates: Check back for upcoming sessions

Session times: 9AM - 2PM (please bring lunch)

Location: 64 Passaic Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601 (2nd floor, use side door entrance)

Directions: https://www.bergenvolunteers.org/directions

During the intensive, participants will engage in lessons and activities to strengthen their leadership skills, including communication, team building, problem solving, and more.

In addition to leadership training, we will have guest speakers who will talk about the different ways to get involved in the community. At the conclusion of the program, all participants will be invited to participate in group zoom calls throughout the school year. These calls will give participants the opportunity to share their community involvement, ways they have utilized their leadership skills, collaborate with the group, and ask questions.
