What is Teen LEADS?

Teen LEADS is a unique initiative aimed at empowering young individuals to become engaged and responsible members of their community. Adolescents learn strategies and skills that will prepare them to address issues in their schools, neighborhoods, and beyond.

How do I get Teen LEADS programming at my school?

High School LEADS is based off our Bergen LEADS professional development training. Adapted for high school students, LEADS can be administered at high school through a school club or as a supplement to a civics class. To request access to Teen LEADS programming material, contact Nina (Bachrach) Larson at nbachrach@bergenvolunteers.org.

Is Teen LEADS offered outside of school?

Thanks to support from our presenting sponsor Veolia, we offer Teen LEADS at Bergen Volunteers' office twice each year. Our summer intensive and teacher's week sessions are designed to equip youth with practical real-world skills. Students will practice communication skills, learn about conflict resolution, and explore what it means to be a leader in their school and their community.  Each day includes hands-on activities, guest speakers, and meaningful project work.
