Bergen Mentors
Bergen Mentors comprises two programs at the Volunteer Center: Mentoring Moms and Mentoring Youth.
Mentoring Moms is a program that connects adult women volunteer mentors with mothers who are overwhelmed by the responsibilities of children and life. Mothers are referred through the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) and other community agencies.
Mentoring Moms requires a five-week mentor training program. The next training session begins in April. Click here to sign up for information.
Mentoring Youth is a program that trains and supervises adult volunteers to serve as mentors to abused, neglected, and isolated youth. Mentors serve as role models to youth up to age 18 who need guidance and the support of a friend. Mentoring Youth also provides an array of programs and activities throughout the year that enhances the mentoring relationship.
