The Volunteer Center can help your group find a great project that meets your needs, no matter when, where or how many people you have. Don't know what you want to do?     Group Project Ideas

    Fix it up!
  • Repair/renovate homes of the elderly, handicapped or underprivileged
  • Scrub, paint and/or landscape a school, faith-based organization or community building
  • Fix broken windows
  • Repair and paint an outdoor porch
  • Adopt a bedroom in a shelter; paint and decorate
  • Build shelves in a food pantry; stock them with food!
     
   Gardening / Outdoor
  • Reclaim an abandoned or rundown playground
  • Plant & maintain flower beds at a school or shelter 
  • Paint over graffiti 
  • Clear trails at a nature center or park 
  • Create a community garden from an abandoned lot and donate the produce to feed the homeless

   Collections


Collections are another great way to harness the "collective" power of your group. Opportunities abound in every season: food drive in the summer, gift drive for the holidays, back-to-school in August. Collections are easy to coordinate year-round, and are especially good when people may have erratic schedules (holidays, summer) and can't easily participate in a hands-on project.
